Affiliate disclosure

How this site makes money, in plain terms.

The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to subscribe or buy something, we may receive a commission from that company. You pay exactly the same price either way — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.

Which links

Any link beginning /go/ is an affiliate link — that covers NOW, HBO Max and broadband providers. Links to Amazon point at amazon.co.uk directly, with our Associates tag attached, because Amazon's terms require the destination to be visible rather than routed through a redirect. Every affiliate link is markedrel="sponsored nofollow" in the page source, and any page carrying one shows a disclosure notice above the first link.

Links to news reports, legislation and other reference material are never affiliate links.

As an Amazon Associate

DodgyStick is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Why it doesn't change what we recommend

We only recommend services that are legal to use in the UK. That rule came first and it decides the list — not the commission. It's also why you will never find an IPTV subscription, a "fully loaded" device or a VPN sold on the promise of avoiding detection anywhere on this site, however well those things pay.

Where a service we recommend pays us nothing, we still recommend it. Where the best answer is "keep what you have", we say that.

Prices

Subscription prices are checked when an article is published or updated, and the date is shown on every guide. Providers change prices without notice, so always confirm on the provider's own site before subscribing.
